D.C. 酒吧 公益性服务 Center invites volunteer attorneys 应用 to represent a client through the 宣传 & 正义的诊所 . Available litigation matters include family law, 驱逐国防, 住房条件, eviction record sealing, 消费者法律, and social security denial matters.  We provide volunteer attorneys with the support they need for successful representation – recorded 培训s, 练习材料, 专家顾问, and malpractice insurance. Volunteer attorneys represent individuals filing personal bankruptcy by providing 建议, preparing petitions and related schedules, attending meetings of creditors,   and otherwise handling all aspects of the Chapter 7 bankruptcy process. Volunteers who are not experienced bankruptcy attorneys must attend one of our twice-yearly 培训 sessions. Immigration Legal 建议 & 咨询诊所

Volunteers may assist individuals through our 季度 Immigration Legal 建议 & 咨询诊所. Typically held in March, 6月, 9月, 和12月, this clinic provides legal 信息, 简短的建议, 和推荐 to individuals with civil legal problems concerning U.S. 移民法. We welcome active barred attorney volunteers to complete client intakes and provide brief legal 建议, 信息, 和推荐. We invite attorneys with transactional, 业务, or corporate law backgrounds to volunteer at our 简短的建议 legal clinics, represent a nonprofit in an ongoing matter, train nonprofits and small 业务es in legal basics, or draft educational guides on legal topics of importance to these organizations. We offer both virtual and in-person volunteer opportunities at our NPSB clinics.

Intake volunteers administer short screening interviews with clinic attendees so each 业务 may be paired with an attorney who has the appropriate expertise to assist. No prior 培训 or experience is required. Intake shifts last two and a half hours, and most clinics are held 5:00 p.m. 到晚上7:30.m. on weeknights or 9:30 a.m. 至中午十二时.m. 在星期六早晨.
